ICQ for Ubuntu Linux (beta)


Its here! For those of you who use ICQ, there is now a beta version available of ICQ for linux users. You will need to go to the Ubuntu Software Center and install Adobe Air first*, and then go to the ICQ link below and click "Download ICQ" for linux.


* If Adobe Air is not listed in your Ubuntu Software Center, you will need to download the DEB from the Adobe Air website link below and install it first.

    I can't download the new ICQ for Linux from their website... I wonder if they know computer doesn't meet the requirements. I only have a 1.8 GHz processor and it's not intel. :( I am so sad now!

    My CPU is 2.8 GHz and it's dual core, but still i can't download from they' site. Maybe it becuz of no Adobe Air installed (that was no longer supported in Linux) ??

  5. Your best hope is to try downloading their last linux installer here:

    http://airdownload.adobe.com/air/lin/download/2.6/AdobeAIRInstaller.bin

    Once downloaded, right click the file, click properties and check mark the box "allow executing file as program". Click ok and then you will be able to double click the file to install Adobe Air. Then just go to the ICQ site to click and install ICQ for linux.

    you can install it with your software center just tip in adobe air :D
