A couple of weeks ago I blogged about GRISM, the free linux stock tracker tool. GRISM is nice and basic and its a simple easy way to quickly monitor your stocks. Its a great tool for beginners.
The author of GRISM has developed another stock tracking program that is a paid app named Stock Market Eye which is a MUCH more powerful app than GRISM is. I really think this is a great business model. A free version for basic tasks and a paid version that can do a lot more.
Stock Market Eye gives you the ability to create stock watchlists and also input your portfolio info keeping your info safe and secure on your computer, not on a web based portfolio. Stock Market Eye has a lot of capabilities to pull visual technical analysis using SMA, Bollinger Bands, MACD, RSI and more. It also features different chart types like mountain, line, candlestick, etc. These are all features you wont get in the free GRISM program. StockMarketEye even lets you save charts to an image file to share with friends or even on the web.
Other benefits include encrypted backups, automatic backups, import/export your data, the use of Google or Yahoo Finance data feeds, intraday charts, and one of the best additions in recent versions is the ability to password protect Stock Market Eye so only you can access your data on your system.
If you are just getting into stocks or if you are a seasoned stock trader, you are going to enjoy Stock Market Eye.
Stock Market Eye gives you a 30 day free trial, so click the link below to try it out. If you are interested in purchasing, use the code IHEARTUBUNTU to receive 50% off the purchase price! We only have 5 of these available so buy Stock Market Eye NOW!
Ive also created a Faenza icon for the Stock Market Eye program.
Stock Market Eye is the best way for linux users to keep your eye on the stock market and monitor your investment portfolios.

Edit
I was looking for a simple stock portfolio program for Linux and I stumbled here. I didn't like any of the stock programs I saw, so I made a little python script that does what I want. You can find it on github: https://github.com/joshwalters/SSPM
ReplyDeleteFANTASTIC Josh! I just ran it and it looks awesome. One thing to note, and not sure if there is a way to get around it... I have some DRIP accounts so some of my stock quantities have a fractional value and not just a whole number. For example 22.7204 shares instead of just 22. The PY script doesnt seem to like that, but whole #'s work great. THANKS! Will blog this soon.
ReplyDeleteThe linux software sector is starting to move...
ReplyDeleteI found/use miStocks (http://www.marketinsider.com.au/products/marketinsider/) which is another slightly different solution for traders using linux.
Do a review! Lets see how it stacks up against the others.
The visual technical analysis provided by the Stock Market Eye as a
