Switch from KDM to GDM in Ubuntu

Many of us who love Ubuntu have also tried installing Kubuntu from the Software Center. Kubuntu is the KDE desktop of Ubuntu (whereas Ubuntu uses Gnome). You also may have the Kubuntu splash screen and login window and want to switch it back to the normal Ubuntu login. But how?

Use this command in a terminal window:

sudo dpkg-reconfigure gdm

You will then get a box like this one to make your selection.

And thats it! Restart your computer and you will be back to normal.
